Why Sourcegridpath exists
Grant budgets often pass between programme, finance and fundraising colleagues. Each person understands one part, but the final application may not show how those parts connect. Sourcegridpath was formed in Johannesburg to provide the calm, independent reading that busy internal teams rarely have time to perform before a deadline.
Our work is led by Naledi Mokoena, a grant finance reviewer with experience in nonprofit budgeting, donor compliance and programme cost allocation across Southern African civil-society organisations. She works with a small peer group of finance and programme specialists selected according to the subject of each application.
How we work with teams
We ask plain questions and preserve organisational judgement. A comment may flag that a vehicle rate lacks a source, that participant numbers differ between documents, or that an overhead method needs explanation. It will not pretend there is only one valid way to design a programme.
Confidentiality, proportionality and useful candour guide every engagement. We request only the documents needed, discourage sharing beneficiary-level personal information, and distinguish funder requirements from our own recommendations.
A South African base, a broad view
Our office is in Sandton and engagements are delivered remotely across South Africa and neighbouring countries. Reviews account for local salary structures, travel distances, VAT treatment, exchange-rate exposure and the practical realities of community delivery without assuming that one funder’s convention applies to another.
